Youkihi 陽気婢 (1966-) – Nudité japonaise (1995)

Youkihi alias Yokihi a fait ses débuts en tant que mangaka juste avant d’obtenir son diplôme de l’université d’Osaka.
Destiné à une carrière dans la finance, il a commencé à travailler dans une grande banque mais a quitté son emploi au bout d’un an seulement pour poursuivre son rêve de devenir mangaka.
Depuis, il a publié de nombreux articles dans des magazines tels que « Weekly Young Magazine » (Kodansha), « Monthly Sunday Gene-X » (Shogakukan) et « COMIC Happy Days » (Wanimagazine).
Ses œuvres représentatives incluent « 2×1 », « Etches » et surtout « Sleeping Planet » où le personnage principal se réveille pour retrouver toute l’humanité dans un sommeil profond !
« Japanese Nudity » est, tout comme « Sleeping Planet », un fantasme de ses années de lycée.
Le monde fictif de l’œuvre est entouré de mystère et l’histoire tourne autour de l’enquête sur ces mystères. Après une lecture partielle, je compare personnellement cette publication à « Sex Education »
Il a été initialement publié dans ‘Young Magazine’ (1995, #5 > #16) avec une publication d’album par Kodansha.
Bien que les premiers travaux de Youkihi aient des intrigues très détaillées, des rebondissements et de superbes graphismes, ses travaux les plus récents ont souvent un scénario très fragile, penchent vers l’ecchi/hentai et incarnent l’idéal des hommes et de leurs désirs.
Il a néanmoins dessiné 5 œuvres majeures et cette « Nudité japonaise » en fait partie.

Youkihi a.k.a. Yokihi made his debut as a mangaka just before graduating from Osaka university.

‘Japanese Nudity‘ is, much like ‘Sleeping Planet’ a fantasy from his junior high school days
The fictional world of the work is shrouded in mystery and the story revolves around the investigation of these mysteries. After a partial reading, I personally compare this publication to ‘Sex Education‘

Although Youkihi’s early work had very detailed plots, plot twists and beautiful graphics, his more recent work often has a very flimsy storyline, leans towards ecchi / hentai and embodies the ideal of men and their desires.
Nevertheless, he did draw, 5 major works and this ‘Japanese Nudity’ is one of them
